Job summary

Fontainebleau Development LLC in Aventura, FL, seeks a Director of Accounting to lead all accounting functions for construction and corporate activities. The role reports to the SVP of Finance and Accounting and requires deep expertise in job cost accounting, GAAP, and internal controls.

The ideal candidate will drive close processes, policy development, and cross-functional collaboration with project managers, legal, and operations to ensure accurate financial reporting and strategic alignment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA required.
• Minimum of 15 years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
• Significant experience in construction accounting and corporate accounting is required.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, internal controls, and financial reporting.
• Proficient in construction accounting software (e.g., Sage 300, Viewpoint, or similar) and general ERP/accounting systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage all accounting functions, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, job cost accounting, and financial reporting.
• Oversee the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes and preparation of consolidated financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
• Develop, implement, and maintain accounting policies and procedures to ensure compliance and operational efficiency.
