Job summary

Century Group is partnering with a client that seeks a Director of Accounting to join their team in California. The starting base salary ranges from $170,000 to $210,000 per year, with exact compensation based on skills, experience, and location.

You will oversee daily accounting operations, lead month-end close, and manage budgeting, forecasting, and reporting. Strong leadership, GAAP knowledge, and experience in hospitality or service sectors are highly valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting leadership experience, preferably in hospitality, entertainment, or service-based environments.
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, internal controls, and GAAP.
• Experience with accounting software, financial systems, and advanced Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to work flexible schedules, including travel and extended hours when needed.

Job Responsibilities:

Oversee daily accounting operations, including general ledger activities, cash management, payables, receivables, and payroll functions.

Lead month end close processes and ensure accurate preparation of financial statements, management reports, and performance analyses.

Review account reconciliations, journal entries, and financial data to maintain the accuracy and integrity of accounting records.

Manage budgeting, forecasting, cash flow planning, and financial reporting activities to support business decisions.

Partner with auditors, operational leaders, and executive management to support compliance, reporting, and strategic initiatives.

Requirements:

A Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.

5+ of progressive accounting leadership experience, preferably within hospitality, entertainment, or service based environments.

Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, internal controls, and general accounting principles.

Previous experience with accounting software, financial systems, and advanced Microsoft Office applications.

Ability to work flexible schedules, including occasional travel and extended hours when business needs require.
