Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 8+ years accounting, including leadership.
• Public accounting background (Big 4 preferred) plus industry experience.
• Inventory accounting experience.
• CPA strongly preferred.
• Experience supporting multi-entity environments.
• Advanced Excel; strong communication & stakeholder management.
• ERP and end-to-end accounting process experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead accounting oversight across multiple entities, ensuring GAAP consistency and close timelines.
• Review monthly financials, balance sheet reconciliations and judgments.
• Design standardized close calendars, reporting packages and controls.
• Support audit readiness and lender/investor reporting requirements.
• Mentor accounting team and drive process improvements.
• Partner with tax providers for state and federal compliance.
• Prepare executive-level reporting and ad-hoc analyses.
• Assist integration of newly acquired entities.

About The Opportunity

We’re partnering with a stable and growing financial services company to hire a Director of Accounting to lead and strengthen accounting operations across a multi-entity portfolio. This role offers a unique blend of accounting leadership, financial analysis, and business partnership. While it includes ownership of close standards, GAAP compliance, and reporting quality across the portfolio, the position is less about day-to-day transactional work and more strategic, partnering with executive leadership and portfolio finance teams to drive consistency, insight, and value creation across the organization.

Salary Range

$160,000 – $180,000 base salary plus additional incentives. Please note this range is an estimate and actual pay may vary based on qualifications and experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead accounting oversight across multiple entities, ensuring consistent GAAP application, close timelines, and reporting standards
• Review monthly financial statements, balance sheet reconciliations, and key accounting judgments for accuracy and completeness
• Implement standardized close calendars, reporting packages, and key control checklists
• Serve as a resource for complex accounting topics (e.g., revenue recognition, debt accounting, equity transactions, intercompany activity)
• Design and enhance internal controls; identify and remediate process and control gaps
• Support audit readiness and lender/investor reporting requirements, including covenant reporting
• Partner with external tax providers to support state and federal compliance needs
• Prepare executive-level reporting packages and support ad-hoc analysis requests
• Mentor and develop accounting team members; drive process improvements and documentation
• Support integration of newly acquired entities and finance process enhancements

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership responsibility
• Public accounting foundation (Big 4 or similar preferred) plus industry experience
• Inventory accounting experience
• CPA strongly preferred
• Experience supporting a multi-entity environment preferred
• Advanced Excel skills; strong communication and stakeholder management abilities
• ERP and end-to-end accounting process experience; ability to drive standardization and scalable reporting
