Job summary

Alexander Wang is seeking a Director of Product Development & Production, Accessories to lead development and production for handbags and SLG. You will oversee calendars, budgets, and cross-functional teams to meet aesthetics, quality, and cost targets across global markets.

You will manage vendor relationships, drive process improvements, and collaborate with design, merchandising, and manufacturing partners.

Qualifications

• 9+ years of global accessories product development experience, focusing on handbags and SLG
• Experience with manufacturing partners across Asia and Europe
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent
• Strong sourcing and production understanding
• Aesthetic sense and deep construction knowledge in luxury leather goods and hardware
• Capable of interpreting design needs and driving timely delivery with cost controls
• Cross-functional collaboration to achieve on-time delivery and quality

Responsibilities

• Develop clear development and production calendars for handbags and SLG, aligning with design and senior teams
• Lead and grow the Accessories PD & Production team
• Drive efficient supply chain and cross-functional process improvements
• Manage communication with internal partners and external manufacturers and vendors
• Attend prototype, BOM, and pre-production meetings to guide decisions
• Identify vendor relationships to meet sample and bulk delivery goals
• Ensure alignment with budgets, costs, and quality targets
• Travel internationally to partners to expedite development and production flows
• Monitor cost sheets and negotiate favorable margins
