Job summary

Farmingdale State College seeks a Director of Academic and Workforce Development Programs to join the Long Island Educational Opportunity Center (LIEOC) in Brentwood, NY. • Promoting and facilitating professional development opportunities and training initiatives to enhance instruction and student learning.
• Assisting with the administration and effective utilization of Brightspace to support instruction and student learning.
• Developing and publishing the course offerings brochure and Banner schedule each semester.
• Maintaining inventories of textbooks and instructional materials and coordinating the procurement of required resources.

Job Description:

Farmingdale State College seeks a Director of Academic and Workforce Development Programs to join the Long Island Educational Opportunity Center (LIEOC). Reporting to the Dean, the Director is responsible for the overall development, administration and delivery of instructional programs at the LIEOC, including English forSpeakers of Other Languages (ESOL), High School Equivalency Preparation, College Preparation, Allied Health Programs, and workforce development certification training inbusiness and technology.

Responsibilities include:

• Providing strategic leadership and oversight for the development, implementation, and continuous improvementof high-quality programs that respond to workforce, economic, academic, and community needs.
• Hiring, supervising, mentoring, and evaluatingall LIEOC faculty.
• Reviewing, developing, revising, submitting, and maintaining curriculum to ensure program relevance, compliance and instructional excellence.
• Promoting and facilitatingprofessional development opportunities and training initiatives to enhance instruction and student learning.
• Assisting with the administration and effective utilization of Brightspace to support instruction and student learning.
• Developing and publishing thecourse offerings brochure and Banner schedule each semester.

• Preparing and submitting reports toSUNY System Administrationand UCAWD regarding program metrics, outcomes, and departmental performance.

This position requires occasional evening hours, as needed,to support evening faculty.

Requirements:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Master's Degree.
• Five years of experience in an educational area such as CTE, K-12, Allied Health programming, or related instructional environment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Experience with workforce development or CTE programs.
• Experience in curriculum development, assessment, or instructional program management.
• Experience in adult education.
• Experience in working with underserved populations.
• Experience with learning management/student management systems.

This is a full-time UUP position.
