Job summary

Farmingdale State College seeks a Director of Academic and Workforce Development Programs to join the Long Island Educational Opportunity Center (LIEOC) in Brentwood, NY. The Director will oversee instructional programs, including ESOL, High School Equivalency Preparation, College Preparation, Allied Health Programs and workforce development training.

Qualifications

Master's Degree.
Five years of experience in an educational area such as CTE, K-12, Allied Health programming, or related instructional environment.
Three years of experience in supervising, mentoring, or leading other educators.

Responsibilities

Providing strategic leadership and oversight for the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of high-quality programs that respond to workforce, academic, and community needs.
Hiring, supervising, mentoring, and evaluating all LIEOC faculty.
Reviewing, developing, revising, submitting, and maintaining curriculum to ensure program relevance, compliance and instructional excellence.
Promoting and facilitating professional development opportunities and training initiatives to enhance instruction and student learning.
Assisting with the administration and effective utilization of Brightspace to support instruction and student learning.
Developing and publishing the course offerings brochure and Banner schedule each semester.
Maintaining inventories of textbooks and instructional materials and coordinating the procurement of required resources.
