Job summary

Stanford Health Care Tri-Valley in Livermore is seeking a Director of Education, Professional Practice and Nursing Excellence to lead education, professional practice, workforce development, and nursing research across the organization.

The role partners with designated medical directors to advance interprofessional education, simulation, and clinical scholarship, driving standards, competency, and outcomes that align with regulatory and clinical priorities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing required; advanced degrees preferred.
• Experience leading education, professional development, and clinical practice initiatives.
• Proven ability to manage large programs, budgets, and governance structures.

Responsibilities

• Establish and execute a comprehensive education and nursing-excellence strategy aligned with organizational goals.
• Lead operations: staffing, budgeting, contracts, and program evaluation for education and practice.
• Recruit and develop multidisciplinary teams in education, simulation, and research.
• Partner with clinical and operational leaders to ensure safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.
• Oversee learning-management-system administration, continuing education, and competency tracking.
