Job summary

Pentair plc in Apex, NC is seeking a Director of Engineering, NPD & VAVE to lead Pentair Pool’s Mechanical, Electrical, and VAVE NPD teams and own design decisions for on-time delivery.

This role partners with Product Management, drives stage-gate discipline, and champions cost-aware design throughout the product lifecycle, reporting to the Sr. Director of Hardware Engineering & Engineering Services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or higher in mechanical/electrical engineering; MBA preferred.
• 12+ years in NPD with 5+ years leading multiple engineering disciplines.
• Experience with front-end specification and stage-gate NPD in hardware/electromechanical products.
• Experience with VE/VA activities and cost-design considerations.

Responsibilities

• Own engineering's specification quality at program kickoff.
• Serve as single accountable owner for technical delivery across active NPD programs.
• Lead VAVE activity and collaborate with Sustaining Engineering and Operations.
• Represent NPD Engineering in stage-gate reviews and design reviews.
