Job description

LumaBio Partners is supporting a mid-sized global biopharmaceutical company that is making a significant investment in the continued expansion of its US Neuroscience business.

We are seeking a Director, Neuroscience Marketing to take a critical leadership role within the US commercial organisation.

This is a newly created position with responsibility for leading the US commercial strategy and launch of an established neuroscience product into the migraine market.

The successful candidate will have end-to-end responsibility for launch strategy, commercial readiness and long-term brand performance, while leading a team of experienced marketers and working closely with senior commercial and cross-functional leadership.

This is an opportunity to help build a new migraine franchise from an early stage and play a significant role in shaping its entry into a highly competitive US market.

Key Responsibilities
Launch Strategy & Commercial Readiness
  • Lead the development and execution of the overall US migraine launch strategy.
  • Own launch readiness planning across positioning, segmentation, messaging, market development, campaign development and commercial execution.
  • Develop the annual brand strategy and translate strategic priorities into executable commercial plans.
  • Establish launch KPIs and measurement frameworks to assess pre-launch readiness and post-launch performance.
  • Lead the development of integrated HCP and patient marketing strategies.
  • Provide strategic direction across personal and non-personal promotion, including DTC, digital, media and field-facing initiatives.
  • Oversee positioning, messaging, creative development, market research and campaign testing.
  • Ensure consistent brand storytelling across HCP and patient audiences.
Cross-Functional Leadership
  • Lead across a complex matrix organisation, partnering closely with:
  • Medical Affairs
  • Market Access
  • HEOR
  • Data & Analytics
  • Insights
  • Regulatory
  • Legal
  • Global Marketing
  • Translate market and customer insights into commercial recommendations and strategic pivots.
  • Ensure alignment across US and Global stakeholders throughout launch planning and execution.
Leadership & Team Development
  • Lead and develop a team of experienced marketers.
  • Build strong relationships across the broader Neuroscience organisation.
  • Influence senior stakeholders and establish alignment around launch priorities.
Budget & Agency Management
  • Own and manage a significant migraine launch marketing budget.
  • Lead creative, media and other external agency partners.
  • Establish effective agency operating models and ensure investment is aligned with strategic priorities.
  • Monitor performance and optimise investment based on commercial impact.
  • Build strong relationships with healthcare professionals and key opinion leaders.
  • Partner with Medical Affairs and other stakeholders to develop a deep understanding of the migraine treatment landscape.
  • Champion the needs and experiences of patients living with migraine throughout commercial planning.
Candidate Profile

We are interested in speaking with senior pharmaceutical marketing leaders who bring direct migraine and/or neurotoxin experience.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Significant pharmaceutical or biotechnology commercial experience, including at least 5 years within marketing.
  • Successful US pharmaceutical launch planning and execution experience.
  • Experience leading HCP and patient/consumer marketing strategy.
  • Strong understanding of DTC marketing, including campaign development, execution, measurement and optimisation.
  • Demonstrated brand strategy and commercial planning experience.
  • Proven ability to lead complex cross-functional teams within a matrix organisation.
  • Experience managing and developing marketing teams.
  • Strong agency and vendor management experience.
  • Experience managing significant marketing budgets.
  • Strong understanding of pharmaceutical promotional regulations and MLR processes.
  • Strong scientific and medical aptitude.
  • Excellent executive communication and stakeholder management skills.

Previous commercial field experience would be advantageous but is not essential.

A Bachelor's degree or equivalent is required, with an MBA or Master's degree preferred.

Why Consider the Opportunity?

This is not simply an established-brand marketing position.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to shape the commercial strategy for a major entry into the US migraine market, build the launch strategy from an early stage and influence how the organisation develops its broader neuroscience franchise.

The position offers significant visibility across senior US and Global leadership and the opportunity to lead a talented marketing team through an important period of growth.
