Job summary

WSB is seeking a Director to lead municipal engineering in the Pacific Northwest and Mountain West. You will own business development, client relationships, and project delivery for cities, counties, and state DOTs, turning growth strategy into revenue and backlog.

You’ll build and lead a high‑performing team with a client‑first, entrepreneurial approach. You will oversee financial performance, plans, and staffing while mentoring engineers and project managers, ensuring quality and compliance

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management from an accredited school.
• PE registration or the ability to obtain within six months; licensure in ID, WA, OR, or MT is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead municipal engineering practices in the Pacific Northwest and Mountain West.
• Own business development, client relationships, and project delivery for cities, counties, and state DOTs.
• Translate growth strategy into annual operating plans, team goals, and revenue targets.
• Oversee the region’s financial performance, budgets, and resource planning.
• Plan work and expand teams, leading workforce planning, recruiting, and compensation.
• Coach and develop project managers, team leaders, and engineers.
• Provide senior technical direction on civil engineering deliverables and serve as Engineer of Record on projects.
• Oversee multi-discipline projects from proposal to closeout, managing risk, schedule, quality, and compliance.
• Partner on-site with municipal clients in staff augmentation roles as needed.
• Build a collaborative, entrepreneurial culture rooted in strong client relationships.
