Job summary

Apogee is seeking a Director of EHS for Architectural Metals to lead health, safety, and environmental initiatives across multiple sites. You will drive enterprise-wide strategies, partner with executives, and ensure compliance with OSHA/EPA while advancing a proactive safety culture.

The role requires 15+ years of EHS leadership in manufacturing, strong change management, and the ability to align EHS with capital projects and business goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; MBA preferred for leadership roles.
• 15+ years of progressive Environmental, Health & Safety leadership in complex manufacturing.
• Experience leading multi-site EHS programs and teams.
• Experience influencing executive leadership in a matrixed organization.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a multi-year Metals EHS strategy aligned with growth and safety
• Lead standardization of EHS processes, governance, and performance across sites
• Cultivate a proactive safety culture with ownership and continuous improvement
• Partner with leaders to embed EHS accountability into performance management
• Influence strategic decisions with data, risk assessment, and business cases
• Collaborate with Occupational Health on injury prevention and wellness programs
• Incorporate EHS into capital projects, expansions, and growth initiatives
• Develop Metals EHS talent strategy including succession and coaching
• Establish enterprise risk management framework and governance
• Lead regulatory strategy and interface with agencies and auditors
• Oversee incident investigation standards and corrective actions
• Set contractor EHS standards across locations and integrate into procurement
