Job summary

ArtHaus Properties is seeking a Director of Maintenance to lead the Maintenance vertical as its own business unit. You will manage ~2,500 units across Oakland and Berkeley, with plans to grow to 3,500–4,000 units in 18–24 months.

You own the condition, safety, and service performance of every asset in the portfolio, including the team, systems, vendors, budget, and results. This is a leadership seat, not a hands-on repair role.

Qualifications

• Seven or more years of multifamily maintenance experience, including leadership of multi-site operations.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Maintenance vertical as its own business unit, overseeing the team and service performance across ~2,500 units with growth to 3,500–4,000.
• Oversee work orders, preventive maintenance, CapEx planning, and vendor contracts; manage P&L and budgets.
• Ensure safety, code compliance (OSHA, ADA, EPA, California requirements), and quality across all properties.
