Detroit Medical Center is seeking a skilled professional to lead the technical operations of the Molecular Genetics and Cytogenetics Laboratories at DMC University Laboratories in Detroit, Michigan. The candidate should hold a PhD in a relevant life science and possess board certification in Laboratory Genetics. Responsibilities include managing laboratory procedures, ensuring quality control, and participating in resident and fellow education. This full-time position offers a day shift schedule and aims to enhance laboratory standards and performance.

Formación

• Previous experience in a clinical laboratory including administrative and managerial experience.
• Experience with next-generation sequencing, RT-PCR, Sanger sequencing, etc.
• Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team-based environment.

Responsabilidades

• Coordinate technical operations of Molecular Genetics and Cytogenetics Laboratories.
• Control productivity, fiscal responsibility, and quality of test results.
• Participate in development of laboratory policies and procedures.

Molecular genetics and cytogenetic methodologies

Knowledge of CLIA and CAP regulations

Educación

PhD in Life Science relevant to genetics, molecular biology, cancer biology

Board certification or Active Candidacy by the American Board of Medical Genetics
