The role includes hiring decisions, staff coaching, budgeting, and driving process improvements to meet performance targets. Responsibilities cover training, competency evaluation, and adherence to HIPAA and JCAHO standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or related science or equivalent.
• 3-5 years of progressively responsible laboratory experience or 2-4 years of supervisory experience in a clinical laboratory.
• Registered as a Technologist with ASCP or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Directs and supervises personnel and daily activities of the cytogenetics lab section to ensure efficient operations.
• Develops, monitors and enforces staff training, competency assessments and evaluations.
• Ensures compliance with HIPAA, regulatory standards and internal policies; participates in process improvements.
