The Aerospace Corporation is seeking a Director, Mission Engineering Department to lead strategic mission engineering efforts across national space programs. You will guide architecture conceptualization, assessment, and execution, coordinating with customers and internal teams to deliver high-impact results.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with technical experience.
• Experience leading engineering studies and analysis teams.
• Proven leadership of multidisciplinary teams in space/ground/launch/operations.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the vision for the department and enterprise decisions.
• Scale capabilities through recruiting, onboarding, mentoring, and coaching.
• Leverage aerospace expertise across the enterprise and best practices in systems engineering.
• Manage department, performance reviews, resources, personnel actions and awards.
• Serve as primary contact for program office inquiries using mission engineering principles.
• Foster innovation and collaboration across peer organizations and analysts.
• Identify new partnerships for mission engineering growth.
• Coordinate and manage complex technical tasks among customers.
• Collaborate with leadership to build an effective national organization.
• Lead architecture conceptualization, assessment, and mission engineering activities.
