Job summary

Entergy in New Orleans seeks a Director to manage all stages of capital project development and execution for major projects in the generation fleet, including planning, design, permitting, construction and start-up. This field-first, on-site leadership role requires traveling to asset sites and serving as the primary owner on contract delivery to optimize prime structures while guarding delivery risk.

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering, Finance, Accounting, Construction Management or equivalent work experience.
• 10+ years of power generation capital project development and management experience.
• Utility capital project experience essential.
• Mega-project track record: leading/directing megaprojects or portfolios >$1B.
• Utility-scale generation infrastructure expertise (renewables, energy storage, advanced thermal).
• Advanced knowledge of EpCM, Multi-Prime, and Prime-Sub contractual models.
• Site interface with labor relations (IBEW) at large sites.
• Experience with commissioning, interconnection, and grid energization frameworks.
• Robust project controls and stage-gate processes; enterprise-scale risk assessment.
• Willingness to travel 75%+ to project sites.

Responsibilities

• Oversee project progression through Stage Gate Process and manage project teams.
• Coordinate procurement, negotiation and administration of engineering, procurement, construction, and equipment supply agreements.
• Collaborate with Power Generation to ensure staffing, spare parts, and long-term maintenance.
• Support regulatory certifications with written/verbal testimony as needed.
• Work with Environmental to obtain permits.
• Maintain roster of contract personnel for major projects.
