Job summary

Nealy Pierce has been exclusively engaged by a respected, faith-based, nonprofit 700+ bed health system in the coastal Southeast to recruit a Director of Medical Staff Services. This system-level leadership role oversees Medical Staff Services across two hospital campuses, MEC coordination, medical staff governance, credentialing, privileging and physician relations, with a major bylaws revision underway.

Qualifications

• 3+ years Medical Staff Services leadership experience in a large hospital or system
• Strong knowledge of MEC operations, governance, bylaws, credentialing and privileging
• MD-Staff experience and advanced Excel skills preferred
• Bachelor’s degree preferred

Nealy Pierce has been exclusively engaged by a respected, faith-based, nonprofit 700+ bed health system in the coastal Southeast to recruit a Director of Medical Staff Services.

This system-level leadership opportunity includes oversight of:

• Medical Staff Services across two hospital campuses
• Approximately 700 medical staff members
• A team of five, including a Medical Staff Services Manager and three Credentialing Coordinators
• MEC coordination, medical staff governance, credentialing, privileging and physician relations
• A significant medical staff bylaws revision currently underway

The organization is seeking an experienced Medical Staff Services leader who is comfortable working with strong physician personalities, navigating complex governance issues and partnering closely with executive leadership and legal counsel.

Requirements

• 3+ years Medical Staff Services leadership experience within a large hospital, multi-hospital system or centralized system-level function
• Strong knowledge of MEC operations, medical staff governance, bylaws, credentialing and privileging
• Executive presence and the ability to work effectively with influential physician leaders
• CPMSM or CPCS strongly preferred; bachelor's degree preferred
• MD-Staff experience and advanced Excel skills strongly preferred
