Qualifications

• Led Medical Staff Services in a large hospital, multi-hospital system or centralized environment.
• Strong MEC, bylaws, credentialing, privileging and physician-relations experience.
• CPMSM or CPCS preferred; Bachelor's degree; MD-Staff experience and advanced Excel skills also preferred.

Responsibilities

Nealy Pierce is conducting a confidential search for a Director of Medical Staff Services with a prominent nonprofit 700+ bed health system in the coastal Southeast.

For a Jacksonville-area leader, this is a manageable regional move that provides substantially greater scope: approximately 700 medical staff members, two hospital campuses and direct interaction with executive and physician leadership.

A Seat at the Table

The Director will report to the Vice President of Medical Affairs and serve as a key partner to:

• Medical Executive Committee leadership
• Hospital executives
• Medical staff officers and department chairs
• Legal counsel
• Credentialing and Medical Staff Services teams

The position will oversee governance, credentialing, privileging, bylaws, physician relations and medical staff reporting. The Director will also lead a team of five and help complete a major bylaws revision currently underway.

Required Experience

Candidates should have led Medical Staff Services in a large hospital, multi-hospital system or centralized environment. Strong MEC, bylaws, credentialing, privileging and physician-relations experience is essential.

CPMSM or CPCS is strongly preferred. A bachelor’s degree, MD-Staff experience and advanced Excel skills are also preferred.
