Job summary

Lakewood Ranch Medical Center in Bradenton, FL is seeking a Director of Medical Staff Credentialing to provide strategic leadership for credentialing, privileging, and reappointment processes, ensuring compliance with Joint Commission, CMS, and state requirements.

The role supervises the Medical Staff Services Department, oversees primary source verification, policy development, and ongoing monitoring of practitioner credentials, and acts as liaison among hospital administration, medical staff,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in healthcare or business administration required; 10+ years considered.
• Master's degree preferred; ACME certification preferred.
• CPCS or CPMSM certification required.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Medical Staff Services Department, including credentialing specialists and support staff.
• Oversee credentialing, privileging, reappointment, and peer review functions for medical staff and allied professionals.
• Ensure adherence to hospital bylaws, Joint Commission, CMS, and state regulatory standards.
• Develop and maintain policies, procedures, and workflows to support efficient credentialing operations.
• Coordinate FPPE data and liaison with hospital leadership.
