Job summary

Lakewood Ranch Medical Center is seeking a Credentialing Specialist to manage provider credentialing for initial appointments and reappointments. You will maintain credentialing files, verify information, and collaborate with applicants and medical staff leaders, ensuring accuracy and compliance.

The role requires an Associate degree (Bachelor’s preferred) and CPCS certification, with 1–4 years in Medical Staff Services. Strong communication, computer, and customer service skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum of Associate degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• CPCS certification required through National Association Medical Staff Services.
• Minimum of 1-4 years of progressive experience in Medical Staff Services.
• Communication and interpersonal skills, basic computer skills and customer service skills required.
• MD-Staff credentialing software knowledge preferred.
• Excellent communications and interpersonal skills, strong computer skills and customer service skills required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain credentials files and credentialing database.
• Verify and evaluate providers applying for initial appointment and reappointment.
• Interact with applicants, liaisons, department chairs, and medical staff leaders.
• Investigate and validate information.
• Familiar with medical staff meeting management and minute taking.
• Always practices service excellence.
