Job summary

Texas A&M International University (TAMIU) welcomes applicants for a Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor and Director of the Medical Lab Sciences Program to begin Spring 2027. This is a full-time, non-tenure-track, 12-month appointment with both administrative and teaching duties on campus in Laredo, Texas.

Qualifications

• Earned master’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, Biological Sciences, Health Sciences, or related discipline from an accredited institution.
• Current national MLS/MT certification through ASCP BOC or equivalent.
• Minimum of five years of professional clinical laboratory experience across multiple disciplines.
• Minimum of three years of higher education teaching, laboratory education, or academic program administration experience.
• Strong organizational, leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead implementation, administration, assessment, and improvement of the BSMLS program.
• Support accreditation activities and maintain compliance with standards.
• Develop and revise curriculum, student outcomes, and program effectiveness measures.
• Teach undergraduate Medical Laboratory Science courses and foster student-centered learning.
• Recruit, advise, mentor, and support students from diverse backgrounds.
• Coordinate clinical education experiences and engage clinical partners for student learning.
