Job summary

HDR is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead a cross-disciplinary practice within Building Engineering Services. You will drive strategic growth, mentor teams, and coordinate with stakeholders to deliver complex, high-performance facilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in related field.
• Registered Professional Engineer (NA) or Chartered Engineer (EMEA/APAC).
• Aspirations towards Principal Professional Associate level.
• Significant design experience in large, multi-discipline, complex buildings.
• History of exceptional leadership performance and project delivery.
• Recognized technical expert within HDR and industry.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Drive the community of practice.
• Partner with stakeholders to develop a network of Technical Experts/Subject Matter Experts.
• Drive a service-minded culture and support exceptional project execution.
• Develop and implement mentoring and succession strategies.
• Create communication strategies to tie North American and global professionals.
• Create communities of practice around special skills or emerging services.
• Oversee technical excellence and project delivery tools and workflows.
• Collaborate with Digital Delivery on digital content and workflows.
• Lead quality initiatives and design quality control reviews.
• Assist in leveraging SMEs to optimize delivery on complex projects.
• Foster thought leadership, innovation, and industry engagement.
• Support strategic pursuit and client engagement for discipline scope and fee.
• Recruit and retain top talent and strengthen HDR's market leadership.
