Job summary

Chicago Public Schools seeks a Director of Mathematics to drive district-wide K-12 math expectations, guidance, and support for curriculum, instruction, assessment, and intervention. The role leads a team reporting to the Executive Director of STEM Programs and shapes the district’s math vision.

The position requires eight years of experience, including leadership, and a strong track record in professional learning, curriculum design, and cross-department collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; required.
• Valid ISBE teaching certificate with appropriate endorsement; required.
• LBSI/ESL/Bilingual endorsement preferred.
• Master’s degree in a relevant field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage a high-functioning, collaborative team that executes effectively and meets deadlines.
• Lead strategic planning around Math initiatives to support district-wide teaching and learning.
• Lead Mathematics Team to improve outcomes via professional learning and curriculum supports.
• Collaborate with other offices to create a coherent cross-content vision for teaching and learning across departments.
• Facilitate regular meetings to identify priority areas for improving the district’s digital curriculum Skyline.
• Provide subject matter expertise on district-wide initiatives including cross-department programs and RFPs.
