Overview

The Director of Marketing is responsible for developing and executing global marketing strategies across the Contractor Division market categories. This role requires deep expertise in B2B manufacturing to establish a strong voice of the customer (VOC), define market size and opportunity, and build effective go-to-market (GTM) strategies that drive sustainable growth through strategic marketing planning. The Director leads a team of marketers responsible for sales enablement, market research, target customer definition, pricing strategy, product branding and activation which aligns with the company's broader goals. This leader must be able to connect the bigger strategic picture to tactical execution, translating marketing KPIs into measurable ROI that drive profitable growth.

Reporting directly to VP, Global Marketing – Contractor Division

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Marketing and GTM Strategy: Develop and implement long-term strategic marketing roadmaps aligned with global business strategies.
  • Strategic Marketing and GTM Strategy: Lead in-depth research on customer segments to understand market dynamics, end-user needs, and competitive landscape; translate insights into actionable engagement strategies for broader commercial teams.
  • Strategic Marketing and GTM Strategy: Define market segmentation and buyer insights to quantify market size and capture category growth opportunities.
  • Strategic Marketing and GTM Strategy: Build and execute integrated marketing and GTM strategies aligned with goals and target customer personas.
  • Strategic Marketing and GTM Strategy: Develop detailed business plans to support new product introductions within assigned categories.
  • Strategic Marketing and GTM Strategy: Oversee the creation of Customer Requirements Documentation to guide new product design and development.
  • Strategic Marketing and GTM Strategy: Identify opportunities for inorganic growth and adjacent market expansion.
  • VOC and Value Proposition Development: Lead the collection and analysis of Voice of Customer (VOC) insights to inform marketing strategies, segmentation, and buyer journey mapping.
  • VOC and Value Proposition Development: Translate VOC findings into actionable strategies that address customer needs, preferences, and pain points.
  • VOC and Value Proposition Development: Develop clear, differentiated value propositions that resonate with target customers and align with category and business objectives.
  • Pricing and Forecast Strategy: Design and implement pricing strategies that reflect market conditions, customer value, and competitive positioning.
  • Pricing and Forecast Strategy: Develop data-driven product forecasts leveraging market analysis, VOC insights, and historical performance.
  • Pricing and Forecast Strategy: Use forecasting outcomes to guide product development priorities and marketing investments.
  • Product Branding and Launch: Define and manage branding strategies to ensure alignment with category positioning, market differentiation, and global brand identity.

  • Team Leadership and Financial Management: Lead, mentor, manage, and staff a team of marketing leaders and individual contributors, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and promoting a culture of excellence.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Business Administration, or a related field; an MBA or equivalent advanced degree is preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in marketing, with a focus on category-specific strategies and market development.
  • Excellent leadership skills; 5+ years of team leadership experience preferred.
  • Proven track record in strategic planning, market research, GTM development and execution, and pricing strategy creation.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret VOC insights, market pricing data, and product forecasts.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with experience reporting to senior leadership.
  • Ability to identify and evaluate opportunities for inorganic growth and strategic adjacencies.
  • Ability to travel approximately 25% of time, both domestic and international.
