Job summary

LightForce, a leader in digital orthodontics, seeks a Director of Manufacturing Engineering to own the manufacturing technology roadmap, process development, automation, and NPI. This role leads a cross‑functional team to scale patient‑specific manufacturing with quality and cost targets.

You will partner with Hardware, Quality and Operations to drive Lean, Six Sigma, and process improvements, build a strong Manufacturing Engineering organization, ensure OSHA/ISO compliance, and deliver scalable

Qualifications

BS in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Electrical, Industrial Engineering or related technical discipline.
10+ years in progressive engineering in a complex manufacturing environment, with 5+ years in a leadership role.
Direct leadership of departments; experience with CAPEX and NPI in cross-functional settings.
Background in tooling, modeling, and design reviews.
Deep Lean, Six Sigma, cycle time optimization, yield improvement, and standardized workflows.
Root-cause analysis, defect reduction, pFMEA, and OSHA/ISO/regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

Own the Manufacturing Technology & Process Roadmap and execute it to support volume and quality.
Drive continuous improvement; apply Lean, DOE, statistics to improve process metrics.
Own Manufacturing Automation & Equipment, including robotics and fixturing.
Lead New Product Introduction (NPI) and design transfer for manufacturability and scale.
Build and develop a Manufacturing Engineering organization; manage staffing and vendors.
Ensure safety, quality and regulatory compliance with OSHA, ISO and quality standards.
