Job summary

ZT Systems in Texas is seeking a Director of Manufacturing to lead site server and rack assembly operations, focusing on safety, productivity, quality and training. You will supervise 3+ managers, 6+ supervisors, 20+ leads and 200+ production staff, ensuring on-time delivery and continuous improvement.

The role requires 15+ years in complex technology manufacturing, strong leadership, and hands-on Lean experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related discipline, and/or equivalent combination of education and/or work experience.
• 15+ years of experience in high complexity technology manufacturing environment with experience in project management, engineering, quality, manufacturing, and new product introduction.
• 10+ years of leading and mentoring technical and non-technical teams.
• Lean manufacturing hands-on experience.
• Ability to lead cross-functional teams.
• Strong communication skills across all levels of the organization.
• Proven ability to drive continuous improvement within the team and across the organization.

Responsibilities

• Provide Work Direction to the Extended Team
• Communicate overall priorities for the extended team to Team Leads based on ship date, quantity, capacity utilization, efficiency, quality issues, and safety.
• Attend to attendance, OT, PTO execution, training, staffing, and workload balance; provide performance feedback to managers.
• Identify and resolve issues impacting the extended team and coordinate with peers, managers, customers, and NPI PMs.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering / Development Engineering for process/tool improvements and with Maintenance.
• Lead cross-functional teams to solve problems in a fast-paced production environment.

About The Role

The Director, Manufacturing is responsible for leading site server, rack assembly day-to-day operations, and End of line operations, ensuring that production delivery, quality, and cost metrics are met or exceeded. The Director, Manufacturing will focus on employee safety, productivity, quality, and training, typically supervising a team of 3+ managers, 6+ Supervisors, 20+ leads and 200+ production Talents.

What You'll Do

Provide Work Direction to the Extended Team

Communicate overall priorities for the extended team to Team Leads based on:

• Ship date (day/week/month)
• Quantity of units
• Aged units
• Capacity and its utilization
• Efficiency
• Quality issues from Assembly and/or vendors
• Safety & 7S's in place
• Lean tools
• Problem-solving tools and Action plan (PDCA).

Personnel Supervision

• Attendance / OT / PTO Execution
• Training Execution
• Staffing Execution
• Workload Balance
• Performance feedback to Managers

Issue Resolution

• Manage/escalate issues impacting the extended team and communicate to:
• Peer Manager(s)
• Manager
• Customer PM(s)
• NPI PM(s)
• Process Improvement / 7S Leadership
• Work with extended team to identify and execute process/tool improvements: Manufacturing Engineering / Development Engineering
• Maintenance Team

What You bring

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, related discipline, and/or equivalent combination of education and/or work experience
• 15+ years of experience in high complexity technology manufacturing environment with experience in project management, engineering, quality, manufacturing, and new product introduction.
• 10+ years of leading and mentoring technical and non-technical teams.
• Lean manufacturing hands-on experience
• Posess a prominent level of integrity and strong work ethic.
• Ability to lead cross-functional teams.
• Ability to simplify issues/direction and communicate verbally and in writing to all levels of employees.
• Ability to pull information together from numerous sources and consolidate it into a plan/direction for the organization.
• Ability to recognize and drive teams to perform continuous improvement within the team and across the organization.
• Ability to recognize issues and opportunities in an automated production environment and to organize and lead the teams to improve the equipment and processes.
• Must be able to effectively work with all members of the organization and lead cross functional teams to solve issues in a fast paced production environment.
