ZT Systems, a Sanmina Company, is seeking a Director of Manufacturing to lead site server, rack assembly, and end-of-line operations, ensuring safety, productivity, quality, and cost targets are met. You will oversee 3+ managers, 6+ supervisors, 20+ leads, and 200+ production staff while driving training and performance improvements.

The role emphasizes strong cross-functional leadership, Lean manufacturing expertise, and the ability to simplify issues and guide teams in a fast-paced production

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, related discipline, and/or equivalent combination of education and/or work experience.
• 15+ years of experience in high complexity technology manufacturing environment with project management, engineering, quality, manufacturing, and NPI experience.
• Lean manufacturing hands-on experience and ability to lead cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide work direction to the extended team by communicating priorities to Team Leads based on ship date, quantity, aged units, capacity, efficiency, quality, and safety programs.
• Supervise and mentor managers, supervisors, leads, and production staff; manage attendance, training, staffing, and workload balance.
• Resolve and escalate issues affecting the extended team; coordinate with peers, managers, and customers; drive process improvements with Manufacturing Engineering and Maintenance teams.
• Collaborate with cross-functional groups to identify and implement tooling and process improvements across production lines.

About The Role

The Director, Manufacturing is responsible for leading site server, rack assembly day-to-day operations, and End of line operations, ensuring that production delivery, quality, and cost metrics are met or exceeded. The Director, Manufacturing will focus on employee safety, productivity, quality, and training, typically supervising a team of 3+ managers, 6+ Supervisors, 20+ leads and 200+ production Talents.

What You'll Do

Provide Work Direction to the Extended Team

Communicate overall priorities for the extended team to Team Leads based on:

• Ship date (day/week/month)
• Quantity of units
• Aged units
• Capacity and its utilization
• Efficiency
• Quality issues from Assembly and/or vendors
• Safety & 7S's in place
• Lean tools
• Problem-solving tools and Action plan (PDCA).

Personnel Supervision

• Attendance / OT / PTO Execution
• Training Execution
• Staffing Execution
• Workload Balance
• Performance feedback to Managers

Issue Resolution

Manage/escalate issues impacting the extended team and communicate to:

• Peer Manager(s)
• Manager
• Customer PM(s)
• NPI PM(s)
• Process Improvement / 7S Leadership

Work with extended team to identify and execute process/tool improvements: Manufacturing Engineering / Development Engineering Maintenance Team

What You bring

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, related discipline, and/or equivalent combination of education and/or work experience
• 15+ years of experience in high complexity technology manufacturing environment with experience in project management, engineering, quality, manufacturing, and new product introduction.
• 10+ years of leading and mentoring technical and non-technical teams.
• Lean manufacturing hands-on experience
• Possess a prominent level of integrity and strong work ethic.
• Ability to lead cross-functional teams.
• Ability to simplify issues/direction and communicate verbally and in writing to all levels of employees.
• Ability to recognize and drive teams to perform continuous improvement within the team and across the organization.
• Ability to recognize issues and opportunities in an automated production environment and to organize and lead the teams to improve the equipment and processes.
• Must be able to effectively work with all members of the organization and lead cross functional teams to solve issues in a fast paced production environment.
