Job summary

Xcel Energy Services Inc in the Metro Denver area seeks a senior project leader to oversee major programs spanning up to five years. You will manage budgets, schedules and design for gas, electric transmission, and related facilities, coordinating with regulators, municipalities and customers to ensure successful project delivery.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree and at least eight years of utility engineering/project experience, with a focus on risk, contracts and stakeholder management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering or related field.
• Eight years combined gas or electric utility experience in engineering or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or knowledge.
• Strong ability to motivate others and to manage projects.
• Ability to multitask and to interact simultaneously with diverse work groups.
• Familiarity with regulations applicable to engineering/construction projects.
• Subject to all applicable Federal, State and Xcel Energy Drug testing requirements.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the design relocations of gas/electric distribution facilities and coordinate the engineering of electric transmission and high‑pressure gas.
• Ensure adequate design resources to meet construction completion requirements of the overall special project.
• Validate utility conflicts and coordinate resolution with stakeholders and other contractors.
• Negotiate each work request from stakeholders and execute the agreements for relocations and new power requirements.
• Ensure adequate construction resources to meet project schedules and resolve ROW, license and easement challenges.
• Establish a single point of contact for Public Service Company and Xcel Energy departments, municipal entities, stakeholders, and project representatives.
• Work with Xcel Energy Transmission and high‑pressure gas meeting relocation requirements and ensuring all contract terms are met.
• Balance easement rights with all stakeholders.
• Manage field relocations and on‑site oversight to minimize downtime and meet timelines.
• Coordinate timely invoice reimbursements and report project status to stakeholders.
