Job summary

Covenant Living at the Samarkand in Santa Barbara, CA seeks a Director of Staff Development (LPN/LVN) to lead orientation, continuing education, and in-service programs for nursing and staff. You will develop curricula, ensure regulatory compliance, and manage records to support quality resident care across the campus.

The role requires active LPN/LVN license, 2 years geriatric nursing, and 1 year in planning or leading educational programs, with preferred Bachelor’s degree and infection control

Qualifications

• Active LPN or LVN license in good standing.
• 2 years geriatric nursing experience.
• 1 year planning, implementing, and evaluating educational programs.
• Leadership or supervisory experience is a plus.
• Infection control training or certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan, schedule, and teach in-services for licensed nurses and staff.
• Develop training content based on regulatory needs.
• Maintain records demonstrating compliance across staff in-services.
• Support managers in planning and evaluating in-service programs.
• Lead infection control and technology-based training as needed.
• Measure training effectiveness and drive continuous improvement.
• Oversee campus-wide in-services and coordinate external speakers when needed.
• Assist in staff orientation and onboarding and build relationships.
