Job summary

Covenant Living at the Samarkand in Santa Barbara is seeking an Assistant Director of Nursing to supervise clinical operations and ensure high standards of care in accordance with policies and regulations. The role supports the Director of Nursing and may assume their duties in their absence.

The ideal candidate is an RN licensed in California, with a BSN preferred, and at least two years of leadership experience in acute, sub-acute or long-term care.

Qualifications

• The ideal candidate will hold an RN nursing degree and a California license.
• A BSN is preferred.
• Leadership experience in acute, sub-acute or long-term care is required.
• Current RN license in good standing is required.
• Strong time management, motivation and organizational skills.
• Computer literacy and facility in using technology are required.

Responsibilities

• Take responsibility for clinical supervision in the nursing department to ensure high standards of care.
• Support the Director of Nursing and assume functions in their absence.
• Assist nurse managers in decisions regarding nursing care.
• Function as Infection Control Practitioner, QA and restorative lead of the facility.
• Coordinate educational offerings for the nursing department.
• Participate in Medicare and Insurance assessments and related worksheets.
• Monitor MDS schedules and therapy minutes for billing.
• Oversee staff interviewing, hiring, evaluations and discipline.
