Qualifications

• Current California RN or LVN license.
• Valid CPR certification.
• One year of direct patient care in a long-term care setting plus one year of experience planning educational programs.
• Two years of licensed nurse experience with at least one year in direct patient care in a long-term care setting.
• Within six months of employment and prior to teaching, 24 hours of continuing education in educational program planning.
• One year of instructor experience preferred.
• Preferred knowledge in quality improvement methods, adult learning principles and training techniques, patient safety and risk management, regulatory survey processes, infection control, employee health.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and deliver staff education, orientation, and compliance training programs to meet regulatory and organizational standards.
• Develop and maintain training documentation in accordance with state, federal, and accreditation requirements.
• Provide hands-on clinical instruction and annual competency assessments for nursing staff and CNAs.
• Support employee health initiatives and design training to meet resident needs and staff capabilities.
• Collaborate with nursing leadership and interdisciplinary teams to identify quality issues, implement action plans, and drive continuous improvement.
• Conduct required in-service and certification programs to ensure ongoing staff competency and compliance.
