Job summary

Corebridge Financial is seeking a Director, Life Underwriting to accurately assess medical and financial risk while supporting sales and protecting mortality results. The role requires strong communication, accountability, and a customer-centric approach, reporting to the Managing Underwriting Director and collaborating with Case Managers and wholesalers.

You will lead underwriting activities for individual life insurance, interact with clients, and ensure prompt processing and high-quality risk

Qualifications

• 5+ years of life underwriting experience with larger face amount cases.
• Experience with brokerage distribution marketplace.
• Approval authority up to $7,000,000.
• FLMI, FALU and/or CLU designations preferred or progress toward these designations.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite complex life applications and informal quotes within approval guidelines.
• Assess medical and financial risk per company policy and guidelines.
• Manage change, defuse conflicts and negotiate positive outcomes.
• Consider cross-functional impacts of actions and decisions.
• Stay organized and manage a large caseload.
• Demonstrate strong underwriting knowledge and skills.
• Provide training on underwriting topics to internal and external customers.
• Interact with a sophisticated field force serving an upscale market.
