Job summary

Corebridge Financial is seeking a Director, Life Underwriting to accurately assess medical and financial risk for individual life insurance applications, while supporting sales. You will interact with customers and cross-functional teams and ensure timely, quality processing within authority guidelines.

The role reports to the Managing Underwriting Director and collaborates with Case Managers, wholesalers, and firms. Strong communication and relationship-building are essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of life underwriting experience.
• Approval authority up to $7,000,000.
• FLMI, FALU and/or CLU designations preferred or progress toward these designations.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite complex formal applications and informal quotes within approval guidelines.
• Analyze information to make medical and financial risk assessments.
• Manage changes, negotiate outcomes, and handle large caseloads.
• Provide training on underwriting topics to internal/external customers.
• Interact with a sophisticated field force serving an upscale market.
