Fidelity Investments Inc. is seeking a Director of Engineering for our Westlake campus to lead legal technology platforms and teams across local and international groups. The role shapes strategy, drives modernization, and partners with Legal leadership to deliver secure, scalable solutions.

The successful candidate will mentor engineers, enforce modern architectural practices, and balance strategic vision with hands-on delivery in a complex enterprise environment.

Qualifications

• Proven software engineering leadership experience
• Experience with enterprise platforms and modernization
• Strong architecture, cloud, APIs, integrations, and best practices
• Experience managing engineers across full lifecycle delivery
• Leading distributed teams and guiding strategic thinking
• Ability to influence technical direction and challenge assumptions
• Comfort operating across the full software development lifecycle
• Experience with vendor partnerships and secure integration patterns

Responsibilities

• Directly manage a team of 6 local engineers and systems analysts; lead an additional 10 international engineers
• Deliver reliable, high-quality Legal technology platforms built on modern engineering practices
• Improve platform stability, scalability, and delivery predictability
• Reduce operational and regulatory risk by ensuring secure, well-governed, production-ready systems
• Mentor and develop engineering capabilities, driving accountability for outcomes
• Enable Legal Strategy, Shared Services, and Corporate Services to meet objectives with resilient tech
• Navigate a large enterprise with competing business, security, and compliance demands
• Balance strategic thinking with delivery and operational excellence
