Job summary

The Cigna Group is seeking a Director of Legal Financial Operations to design and mature the financial operating model for the Legal organization. You will partner with Legal leadership and enterprise stakeholders to elevate forecasting, analytics, and governance across a complex enterprise.

This highly visible role focuses on budgeting, reporting, and strategic financial guidance to support long-term organizational performance. A remote-friendly position across the U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a finance/legal field.
• 8+ years in Legal Operations, legal finance, FP&A, or related.
• Experience supporting a Legal department or legal spend management.
• Experience leading budgeting, forecasting, accruals, financial reporting, variance analysis, and planning.
• Experience in complex enterprise environments preferred.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to influence stakeholders and drive decision-making.
• Experience across multiple functions and leadership levels.
• Experience with ELM and e-billing platforms (ELM) like TeamConnect, Collaborati, CounselLink, Legal Tracker.
• MBA/CPA/CMA or related certification is a plus.
• Open to remote and office-based candidates across the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Lead budgeting, forecasting, accrual, and annual financial planning processes.
• Develop and deliver financial reporting, dashboards, and analytics on legal spend and performance.
• Provide financial analysis and recommendations to support strategic decisions.
• Monitor performance, identify trends, and assist resource planning.
• Maintain financial governance processes for data accuracy and transparency.
• Leverage ELM and e-billing tools for reporting and decision-making.
• Drive continuous improvement to simplify and standardize processes.
• Support strategic Legal Operations initiatives and special projects as needed.
