Job summary

HITT Contracting is seeking a Director of Learning & Development to lead and elevate learning across our growing organization. This role will translate business needs into meaningful learning experiences, guiding enterprise programs, early career development, and skilled trades training across a diverse workforce.

The successful candidate will drive modern approaches including AI, immersive and simulation-based learning, AR/VR, and mobile learning.

Qualifications

• Experience within construction or the broader AEC industry is required.
• 10+ years of progressive learning and development experience.
• Bachelor's degree in learning and development, organizational development, human resources, business, education, or a related field is required.
• Deep expertise in adult learning, instructional design, and modern approaches to developing capability across varied employee populations.
• Proven ability to lead complex learning initiatives from concept through implementation, adoption, and measurement at scale.
• Strong people leader with experience leading through managers and building high-performing teams.
• Strong business acumen with ability to understand operational needs and engage executives.
• Demonstrated understanding of evolving learning technology landscape and ability to apply emerging tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead HITT's LMS and proprietary content portfolio and ensure a high-quality learning experience for all team members.
• Establish standards for learning content and instructional design.
• Continuously evaluate curriculum to modernize, consolidate, or retire content as needed.
• Build a scalable model for engaging subject matter experts in content development and delivery.
• Identify ways to capture and scale knowledge across markets, roles, and career stages.
• Partner with Safety to support a comprehensive safety learning program.
• Oversee learning infrastructure and administration for compliance training across jurisdictions.
• Ensure training is current, assigned, completed, documented, and auditable with governance for changing requirements.
