Job summary

Gilead Sciences Inc. is seeking a Senior Platform Architect to lead Architecture & Platform Strategy for a self-serve data and AI platform. You will define target-state architecture and governance, aligned to data mesh principles and regulatory requirements.

You will collaborate with engineering and business leaders to deliver scalable, secure cloud platforms on AWS and Databricks, driving execution, cost optimization, and measurable platform adoption.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in platform engineering, data/AI platform architecture, including leadership of major programs.
• Deep hands-on experience with AWS data and AI services and Databricks governance.
• Experience designing agentic AI or LLM-powered systems and data/AI workflows.

Responsibilities

• Define target-state architecture for self-serve data, AI, and agentic AI platform.
• Establish enterprise standards for data products, semantic services, and gateways.
• Architect platform layers for AI systems to access and act on enterprise data.
• Define governance patterns to scale data product trust and compliance.
• Lead delivery across vendor teams and ensure platform quality and adoption.
