The Director of IT Solution Services provides strategic and operational leadership for the design, development, implementation, integration, and ongoing improvement of enterprise technology solutions supporting the College's academic, administrative, student, and workforce functions.
The position leads the College's IT Solutions function of architecture systems design, business requirements, and application testing to support digital solution delivery. The Director ensures technology solutions are scalable, accessible, interoperable, supportable, and aligned with institutional priorities and enterprise architecture standards.
Working collaboratively with college leadership, academic and administrative departments, Application Services, Cybersecurity, Technology Operations, and external partners, the Director translates institutional needs into sustainable technology solutions that improve business processes, enhance student and employee experiences, and advance digital transformation.
The Director promotes a product- and service-oriented approach to technology delivery, emphasizing business outcomes, process improvement, automation, integration, responsible use of artificial intelligence, and continuous improvement rather than technology implementation alone.

Characteristics Duties and Responsibilities:
- 1. Provide support and architecture and requirements guidance related to enterprise applications, software development, integrations, business systems analysis, AI and automation, and digital solution delivery functions.
- 2. Lead, mentor, develop, and evaluate technical professionals responsible for delivering and supporting enterprise technology solutions.
- 3. Execute on IT roadmap aligned with institutional strategic priorities, enterprise architecture, and technology standards.
- 4. Establish application and solution lifecycle management practices covering planning, implementation, enhancement, maintenance, modernization, and retirement.
- 5. Partners with academic and administrative leaders to identify business needs, evaluate processes, and develop technology solutions that improve institutional outcomes.
- 6. Ensure business requirements are effectively translated into functional specifications, technical designs, user stories, and implementation plans.
- 7. Provide architecture and design support for enterprise platforms supporting areas such as student services, finance, human resources, customer relationship management, enterprise service management, learning technologies, and administrative operations.
- 8. Establish standards for business requirements, system and infrastructure architecture design, and end-to-end testing documentation and use cases.
- 9. Promote API-first and reusable integration practices that reduce point-to-point integrations and improve enterprise interoperability.
- 10. Support AI and intelligent automation initiatives that improve institutional workflows, customer experience, and operational efficiency.
- 11. Establish quality assurance and testing practices supporting reliable application releases and system changes.
- 12. Ensure technology solutions meet applicable accessibility standards and provide equitable digital experiences.
- 13. Collaborate with Cybersecurity to incorporate security requirements throughout the solution lifecycle and remediate application vulnerabilities.
- 14. Collaborate with Technology Operations to ensure new solutions have appropriate monitoring, documentation, support models, service ownership, and operational readiness before production deployment.
- 15. Develop and maintain relationships with technology vendors, implementation partners, consultants, and software providers.
- 16. Develop and manage departmental operating and project budgets.
- 17. Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, accountability, customer service, and continuous improvement.
- 18. Remain current with emerging technologies and assess their potential application within higher education.

- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Data Science, Information Technology, Business Analytics, Computer Engineering, or a related field. An associate degree in related field with additional (3) years of experience in addition to required experience.
- Seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience in enterprise applications, software development, systems integration, business systems analysis, enterprise and system architecture, or related information technology disciplines.
- Three (3) years of supervisory or management experience leading technical professionals.
- Experience managing enterprise application implementations, modernization initiatives, or complex technology projects.
- Demonstrated experience partnering with business stakeholders to translate organizational requirements into technology solutions.
Preferred Requirements:
- Master’s degree in information systems, Data Analytics, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience working within higher education or another complex, distributed organization.
- Experience leading multidisciplinary teams that include business analysts, software engineers, application administrators, integration engineers, quality assurance professionals, or AI/automation engineers.
- Experience with enterprise platforms such as Workday, Ellucian Banner, Colleague, PeopleSoft, ServiceNow, Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics, or comparable enterprise applications.
- Experience implementing cloud-based SaaS and Platform-as-a-Service solutions.
- Experience with Microsoft Azure, AWS, or comparable cloud platforms.
- Experience with modern application development technologies and software engineering practices.
- Experience with enterprise APIs, middleware, integration platforms, and event-driven architectures.
- Experience with artificial intelligence, generative AI, agentic AI, robotic process automation, or enterprise workflow automation.
- Experience with Microsoft Power Platform, ServiceNow automation capabilities, or comparable low-code platforms.
- Experience with Agile, Scrum, DevOps, DevSecOps, and modern product management practices.

Working Conditions:
- Typical office environment. Travel between campuses is required. Occasional evening or weekend work may be necessary depending on device deployment and refresh schedules.
