Job summary

EDUCAUSE in Manhattan, Kansas seeks an IT Director for the College of Business Administration to develop and direct strategic IT plans, and to lead the college's technical systems and data platforms.

The role reports to the AVP for Academic IT and Research with dotted lines to the Dean, and will mentor IT staff, ensure operations align with policy, and drive improvements across college services. This holder will coordinate with central IT and manage budgeted resources.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or equivalent and 10 years of relevant IT experience.
• Master's degree in computer science or related IT field preferred.

Job description

The IT Director in the College of Business Administration develops and directs the implementation of strategic information technology plans. The director provides leadership for all college technical systems, data systems and college departmental applications and may manage and mentor IT personnel resources (including full-time IT staff or technicians and part-time hourly or graduate student resources).

This position is responsible for ensuring the college's technical operations and security posture are aligned and comply with IT policies, procedures and standards set forth by the state, university and the college (if applicable). The incumbent is responsible for providing IT leadership and oversight within the college and associated units and supports college strategic plans through a future-forward approach to technology resources. This position typically provides direct management of IT services.

The IT Director will report directly to the AVP for Academic IT and Research which is positioned within central IT along with a dotted reporting line to the Dean of the College of Business Administration.

Minimum Qualifications:

Requires a high school diploma (or equivalent) and ten years of relevant experience. Requirements may be met through a combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's degree in computer science, information technology or related field.
• Experience in technology troubleshooting, assisting, and training.
• Experience administering servers in small to medium sized server environments.
• Experience managing IT staff members responsible for providing front-line support for hardware and departmental IT systems.
