Job summary

Pattern Energy is seeking a Director of the IT PMO to lead a growing technology organization. You will establish governance, align programs across four pillars, and ensure executive visibility of portfolio status, risks, and budgeting.

The role requires a strong PMO background in the power/energy sector, with experience delivering board-ready narratives and cross-functional collaboration. This is a full-time on-site position in Houston, US.

Qualifications

• 10+ years leading IT program/portfolio management, with PMO experience.
• Power/energy industry experience is required (utilities/renewables).
• Strong executive presentation and board-level communication skills.
• Vendor and budget management experience with contract oversight.
• Experience overseeing Data/AI initiatives is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Establish and lead the IT PMO, including intake, prioritization, and governance.
• Build cross-functional alignment across four technology pillars and teams.
• Own executive portfolio reporting: status, risk, budget, steering materials.
• Select and implement appropriate PPM tooling for scale and complexity.
• Oversee vendor management, performance tracking, and renewals.
• Collaborate to drive process improvements affecting IT systems.
• Forecast IT program budgets and align with CTO priorities.
• Prepare board/leadership materials translating status and strategy.
• Provide advisory input on portfolio decisions and cross-portfolio trade-offs.
