Job summary

Etsy is seeking a Director of Engineering, Internal IT to shape the technology strategy that keeps our global workforce productive and secure. You will lead engineers and managers who build internal systems, automate workflows, and enable scale across identity, access, SaaS, and employee tooling.

This full‑time role reports to the VP of Engineering, CISO, with equity, annual bonus, and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in IT or engineering roles, with senior leadership experience.
• Proven ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams.
• Strong expertise in enterprise infrastructure and IT automation.
• Experience with AI enablement in IT environments.

Responsibilities

• Set multi-year IT strategy and translate it into actionable priorities.
• Lead and develop senior ICs and managers across IT engineering.
• Drive automation and reduce manual toil while improving scale and reliability.
• Identify AI enablement opportunities and partner with Security, Product, and Finance.
• Own budget and vendor contracts for Internal IT; ensure compliant operations.
• Define and track metrics like automation coverage and employee satisfaction.
