The role emphasizes leadership, strategic project management, and collaboration with universities and national labs to accelerate product development.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related STEM field.
• 10+ years of progressive engineering experience, with a proven track record in R&D environment.
• Practical understanding of system-level modeling and simulation tools (MATLAB/Simulink, FEA, CFD) to evaluate performance.

Responsibilities

• Mentor, coach, and manage a multidisciplinary team of modeling and simulation, AI engineers and researchers.
• Drive the engineering lifecycle from ideation to viable product in distributed energy and power systems.
• Champion AI/machine learning for product innovation, system optimization, and smart grid integration.
• Establish department KPIs, conduct evaluations, and build professional development pathways.
• Lead the technical and financial scoping of proposals, grants, and bids.
• Manage departmental budgets, resources, and testing lab assets.
