Job summary

Lewis Brisbois seeks a Director of Information Governance in its Washington, DC office. You will establish and lead the firm-wide information governance strategy, policies, and operations to protect client data and ensure compliance across records retention, privacy, and eDiscovery.

In this hands-on leadership role, you will modernize information governance practices, advise senior management on information risk, and drive standards adoption across all offices and business units while supporting

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Master's degree preferred in Information Management/IG/Records/Business or related field.
• 8+ years of progressive experience in Information Governance, Records Management, Data Governance, Compliance, eDiscovery, Risk Management, or Legal Technology.
• Minimum 5 years of leadership experience managing governance or compliance programs.
• Significant experience in a large law firm, professional services, or highly regulated industry.
• Certifications related to Information Governance strongly preferred: IGP, CRM, CIPP, CISSP, CIGO or equivalent credential.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the Firm's enterprise Information Governance strategy and roadmap with governance for records management, data governance, lifecycle, retention, disposition, privacy, and regulatory compliance.
• Lead modernization of IG practices to support digital transformation initiatives and advise leadership on information-related risks and governance best practices.
• Drive adoption of governance standards across all offices and business units.
