Job summary

Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman LLP seeks a Director of Information Governance to lead the firm's governance strategy, policies, and programs. This role ensures lifecycle management, privacy, security, and defensible disposition across firm information, supporting regulatory compliance and client obligations.

The Director partners with GC, Risk, Compliance, Privacy, and IT to establish governance frameworks for AI data, metadata standards, and information classification while guiding litigation

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in a relevant field (JD, MLS, MBA, MS in Information Management, Library Science, Information Governance) preferred.
• Experience developing enterprise governance programs and policies in a legal/information context.
• Knowledge of privacy, cybersecurity, and data governance concepts.

Responsibilities

• Develop and oversee a comprehensive information governance program aligned with the firm's objectives.
• Establish policies and controls for physical and electronic information management.
• Lead enterprise-wide information lifecycle management and data retention initiatives.
• Advise leadership on governance trends, requirements, and best practices.
• Collaborate with Legal, Risk, Privacy, IT, eDiscovery, and AI governance teams.
