Job summary

Ford Motor Company is seeking a Director of Core Runtime & Platform Engineering to lead the runtime, edge, connectivity, cloud infrastructure, and developer platform. You will shape APIs, SDKs, and services enabling ATP products and engineering teams to scale across Ford's manufacturing network.

You will build secure, scalable runtimes, drive platform standards, and mature a globally managed software platform across plants, devices, and applications. This is a hybrid role based in Palo Alto.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS/EE or related field.
• 10+ years in software, platform, or infrastructure engineering is preferred.
• Experience building distributed systems, runtime platforms, or edge computing is essential.
• Strong understanding of industrial systems, factory automation, and device integration.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Core Runtime Platform across Ford manufacturing environments.
• Define and deliver platform APIs, SDKs, and shared services for ATP products.
• Architect edge-to-cloud infrastructure and orchestration for scale.
• Drive reliability, observability, and platform reuse across plants and programs.
• Lead global rollout and developer enablement for Core platforms.
