Job summary

Asian Law Caucus is seeking an experienced attorney to serve as Program Director of the Workers’ Rights Program in San Francisco. You will lead a team, oversee strategic litigation, and advance advocacy for immigrant and low-wage workers amid evolving enforcement and technology-driven challenges.

Responsibilities include directing policy work, building partnerships with worker centers, and coordinating services, litigation, and community organizing to protect workers’ rights and expand access to

Qualifications

  • J.D. degree and California bar membership required.
  • Minimum of eight years relevant experience in employment/workers' rights law.
  • Three to five years of managing and supervising staff.
  • Excellent legal, research, written, and oral communication skills.
  • Experience working with external co-counsel or in a coalition setting comprised of multiple organizational partners.
  • Non-English language skills in AMEMSA and/or Asian languages are a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Workers’ Rights Program and supervise team.
  • Develop and oversee program goals and integrated advocacy strategies in collaboration with the Executive Team and the Senior Leadership Team.
  • Lead impact litigation to expand workers’ rights with guidance from Legal Director, Litigation Director, and Senior Counsel.
  • Build community engagement, policy advocacy, and partnerships with worker centers and community partners.
  • Develop and manage program budget and resources with Finance Director.
  • Coordinate with Development and Program staff on grant proposals and reporting.
