Job summary

Asian Law Caucus in San Francisco seeks a full-time paralegal to support attorneys across all litigation stages, including case management, court filings, discovery, and deposition prep. The Senior Paralegal role requires more extensive experience and leadership in case management.

The position operates in a hybrid model, requiring in-office presence two days per week. A strong background in federal and state procedure, and proficiency with Clio, LexisNexis, and Westlaw are valued assets.

Qualifications

• Two+ years of paralegal experience; five+ years for Senior Paralegal.
• Bachelor’s degree or ABA-approved paralegal certificate preferred.
• Strong knowledge of federal/state court rules and legal terminology.
• Commitment to social justice or immigrant communities preferred.
• Proficiency with LexisNexis/Westlaw or similar research tools.

Responsibilities

• Support attorneys in all phases of litigation from inception through trial and appeals.
• Draft court filings, pleadings, motions, and notices; arrange service of process.
• Respond to and propound discovery; summarize depositions; organize exhibits.
• Provide hearing and trial support; coordinate travel and trial materials.
• Prepare appellate records and review trial transcripts.
• Conduct initial client interviews and gather case facts.
• Perform legal research; cite-check and Bluebooking of briefs and documents.
• Maintain electronic case notes, deadlines, and file management in Clio/SharePoint.
• Handle day-to-day clerical tasks and assist with billing and invoicing.
• Coordinate translators to ensure language access when needed.
