Job summary

The Hartford in Hartford, CT is seeking a Director of IAM Platforms to lead the strategy, design, and governance of identity and access management across the enterprise. This role focuses on modernizing customer identity platforms, lifecycle management, access governance, and platform strategy while managing regulatory risk.

You will oversee the Ping Identity and ForgeRock deployments, drive passwordless authentication, and lead a global IAM engineering team.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in information security, technology risk management, or IAM engineering domains.
• 5+ years architecting and maintaining enterprise-scale deployments of Ping/ForgeRock Identity solutions.
• Leadership experience is required; executive-level communication is essential.
• Strong knowledge of federation standards (SAML, OAuth 2.0, OIDC) and API security.
• Experience leading large IAM migrations in regulated environments and working with AD/LDAP, SDLC, DevOps, and CI/CD.

Responsibilities

• Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute a comprehensive identity management strategy and own Ping/ForgeRock suites.
• Modern Authentication & Authorization: Drive passwordless, adaptive access, and Zero Trust architectures.
• Platform & Lifecycle Governance: Establish federation standards for SSO, MFA, and risk oversight.
• Cross-Functional Partnership: Align with business, application, platform, and security teams to meet roadmaps.
• Risk Reporting: Deliver IAM risk metrics to senior leadership and ensure regulatory alignment.
• Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a global IAM engineering and admin team.
