Job summary

Oracle is seeking a senior Network Engineering leader to oversee one or more teams focused on hyperscale L3/L4 networking and cloud connectivity. You will define strategic roadmaps, drive cross-group improvements in reliability, security, and cost efficiency, and manage budgets across your groups.

You will coordinate the lifecycle of network platform components, guide interoperability, and ensure secure, compliant services at scale across regions and cloud environments.

Qualifications

• Proven leadership of large engineering teams delivering networking at scale.
• Experience delivering hyperscale L3/L4 networking and cloud connectivity programs.
• Budget management and accountability for group budgets.

Responsibilities

• Define multi-quarter architecture roadmap for DC fabrics, routing policy, IPv6 strategy, failure domains, and traffic engineering across regions.
• Lead cross-team design reviews and modernization programs (EVPN/VXLAN/SDN); enforce MOP/rollback and verification standards.
• Standardize VPC/VCN topologies, transit/peering, PrivateLink/service endpoints, NAT, and inter-/multi-cloud connectivity.
• Optimize L4/L7 load balancing and service insertion at scale; enforce cost/SLO guardrails and capacity alignment.
• Embed zero-trust segmentation and policy frameworks; drive rulebase lifecycle and tech-debt reduction.
• Lead audit readiness and risk reduction programs with Security/GRC; implement policy-as-code and preventative controls.
• Institutionalize IaC modules/collections and GitOps; mandate code reviews, policy-as-code, testing, and safe deployment patterns.
• Sponsor platform/tooling investments; track and improve DORA metrics across teams.
• Set SLI/SLO policy; ensure telemetry pipelines support reliability, capacity, and security analytics.
• Chair capacity/performance reviews; direct right-sizing, routing optimization, and placement decisions.
• Lead cross-group incident response and complex changes; coordinate executive updates on high-importance matters.
• Influence adoption of standards across adjacent orgs; negotiate with vendors within budget authority.
• Publish group-level standards and runbooks with traceability to requirements and controls.
• Operate design/change councils; drive documentation quality and version control.
