About the role
The position is at a tech company. We are looking for a proactive Director, People Business Partner to help our Global Finance team.You will be in charge of aligning business objectives with people solutions for the Finance organization across the United States, Europe, and Asia-Pacific.
Your position will be to serve as a trusted and strategic adviser, coach, and change agent to senior and C-level executives, delivering data-driven insights and knowledge on people-related issues to guide and support a tightly linked business and talent strategy.
You will help to ensure the overall success of People Group-driven projects by supporting the participation of other People Group Centers of Excellence (CoE) as needed, gathering views from client groups to shape new programs and iterations, and advocating critical initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Collaborates with senior leaders across our company to shape a talent strategy for Finance, encompassing organizational design and effectiveness, talent development, team member engagement, and other critical people initiatives. Typically supports e-group members and multiple VPs across one or more functions
- Delivers quarterly talent reviews for Finance, aligning with other People Group teams to present a unified perspective
- Mentors, coaches, and provides constructive feedback to managers at all levels; also offers mentorship to other members of the People team
- Proactively advises leadership with insights and recommendations on organizational design and effectiveness
- Leads strategic People programs at scale by collaborating with People Group Centers of Excellence and Divisional PBPs
- Works closely with executives to navigate impactful change—collaborates with e-group and senior leadership on key matters affecting team member success, engagement, and retention
- May define the vision, build, and lead a team of highly collaborative and effective People Business Partners, if applicable
- Assumes additional responsibilities as a subject matter expert on company-wide programs and initiatives when necessary
- Works with other People Group leaders to shape and influence talent strategy and People programs by deeply understanding the business and the organization they support
- Applies knowledge of various Divisions’ goals and needs to foster cross-functional connections that improve collaboration, efficiency, and overall results
- May influence areas beyond their directly supported client group
- Acts as a role model and advocate for our values, challenging leaders to uphold our CREDIT values through People practices as we grow
Qualifications
- Extensive, progressive HR background, including a minimum of 10 years as a business partner supporting Senior Executive and/or C-level leaders
- Proven experience in leading People Business Partner teams or other HR-focused teams
- Skilled in leveraging data to drive strategic talent and business decisions with company-wide impact
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, capable of influencing even the most resistant stakeholders
- Proactive and resourceful, seeking out internal and external solutions when addressing challenges
- Recognizes opportunities and successfully implements talent programs that align with business objectives at scale
- Experienced in working with and leading global teams; prior remote work experience is highly preferred
- High emotional intelligence, with sharp instincts and effective problem-solving capabilities; consistently exercises sound, trusted judgment
- Comfortable navigating between strategic and tactical responsibilities, with a focus on recommending improvements to scale tactical processes
- Bachelor’s degree preferred; Master’s degree and/or HR Certification is strongly preferred
